Julianne Hough and Boyfriend Have a Burger Date in Idaho

How does Julianne Hough celebrate the end of her national summer summer dance tour? With big, juicy burgers of course!

The blonde beauty and her hockey boyfriend, Brooks Laich, stopped in to Hudson’s Hamburgers in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on August 12 where Hough Instagrammed a photo of the pair chowing down on the restaurant’s signature burgers.

The dancer, in town to visit family, brought her beau to the 107-year old establishment, where burgers are the only thing on the menu and customers can choose from two different toppings and two sauces (a homemade hot ketchup and mustard).

Although Hough has frequented the burger joint with her brother Derek — “The Hough family has been eating at Hudson’s for years,” says Joni Hudson, whose family owns the restaurant. “Julianne and Derek order ‘Cheese Both,’ a cheeseburger with pickles and onions” — she decided to take Laich for the first time.

Cozying up at the restaurant’s counter, the couple was “happy and fun loving with each other,” says waitress Cassie Hudson, who actually took the photo of the pair. “Julianne was explaining Hudson’s [burgers] to Brooks. They were just having a good time, enjoying themselves.”

Julianne Hough’s Workout Plan: ‘I Like To Shock My Body’

$

Julianne Hough Shares Her Workout in Shape
Courtesy Shape

A word of advice: Don’t come between Julianne Hough and her eight hours of sleep.

“I’ve started forcing myself to go to bed earlier, because if I don’t get enough sleep, I’m miserable. I get cloudy, my eyes hurt, and I have to take a nap. But when I’m well-rested, I am rockin’!” said the actress, singer and Dancing with the Stars champ-turned-judge in the December issue of Shape magazine, on newsstands Wednesday.

Hough, who said she prefers to get at least eight hours of snoozing time, explained her five-step morning routine: Snuggling with her two dogs when she first wakes up, eating breakfast (which she says is “non-negotiable”), exercising, sitting quietly and expressing gratitude during “a moment of peace,” and, finally, creating her “look for the day” based on her schedule.

It should come as no surprise that Hough’s first meal packs plenty of nutritional power—you don’t get an ultra-toned body and the stamina for all those dips and spins by scarfing down doughnuts. “My favorite dish is an egg-white omelet or a scramble with veggies like asparagus, mushrooms, spinach, and kale. Protein helps me begin my day in a healthy way. It carries me all the way through,” she said.

And like many dedicated gym-goers who prefer to get their sweat sessions out of the way early, Hough is committed to her post-breakfast workouts. “Morning is my favorite time to exercise. I’ll either see my trainer Astrid [McGuire]
or hit a class at Tracy Anderson. I like to shock my body by doing different things,” she said.

The star shared her routine, which was created by McGuire and mixes full-body strength training moves with cardio intervals for maximum impact. Hough seems to have a multi-tasking personality, and moves like the Drawbridge (shown below), which works shoulders, butt, abs and thighs, are a natural fit. “I love how one move and a dumbbell can work your entire body,” she said.

It sounds like her morning plan is working for her: Though her photo shoot for the magazine started at dawn on a warm Los Angeles day, she was already turning cartwheels as her dogs played along.

Move over Gwyneth and Blake, there’s a new celebrity lifestyle blogger in town.

Julianne Hough announced Wednesday the launch of her new website juliannehough.com, which includes everything from home decor to fitness tips — but we’re especially revved up for all the recipes and food tips that she’ll be sharing.

“I wanted to design a space where I could connect with you all and talk about the things I’m most passionate about, like staying healthy, recipes, style, home dĂ©cor and friendship,” the Dancing with the Stars judge wrote on Instagram.

In the food department, Hough has a recipe for a Spring Salad with Strawberry and Avocado, a fruit and veggie juice with beauty benefits, and best of all, Hough suggests her readers throw an “Easy Peasy Pizza Party Night.” In the post, the dancer shares her favorite combination of pizza toppings.

“Sometimes you need a night in, and a pizza party can be just what the doctor ordered,” she writes. “Besides, if you load it up with veggies, a pizza is really just a few steps away from being a salad, right?”

“I like to make mine (mostly) from scratch, but you can speed things up with store-bought dough,” she adds. “You can — and should! — get crazy with your toppings. It is YOUR party, after all!”

To whip up Hough’s pizza in your own kitchen, start with store-bought dough — or make homemade — pile on her combination of toppings (below), and follow package instructions to bake.

Jules’ Perfect Pizza

10 slices of pepperoni
Handful of basil
Mozzarella cheese

Julianne Hough: My Boyfriend Wants Me to Teach Him How to Dance

Julianne Hough lives, breathes and loves dancing – and she’s got the body to prove it.
“I feel like dancing is the best workout you can get because you’re working out muscles that you can’t necessarily get just lifting weights because they’re the little, tiny muscles that are all internal and it’s that deepest layer of muscle that we have that dancing really gets,” the Dancing With the Stars judge tells Women’s Health magazine in its July/August issue.

But does the the lifelong dancer ever get bored of the same steps? “In dancing and especially the way that I grew up I learned so many moves and so many steps of so many different kinds of genres of dance that I feel like I have a library of dance steps,” Hough said. “So if I’m working out I feel like I can just pull from that library, it doesn’t have to be one specific dance or one specific genre, I can kind of just do whatever, which I feel very fortunate about.”

Julianne Hough
Jeff Lipsky/Women’s Health

And Hough tailors her full-body workouts specifically to hit target areas. “To get my cardio in I’ll do a lot of twists to get my obliques going and my heart rate up and then a lot of cha-cha moves because that’s all about your core, pulling down your lats, squeezing your obliques, and rotating but then your butt is super tight and you’re squeezing that and you’re getting your legs super close together and then straightening them. And on top of that your arms are super stretched out.”

Julianne Hough
Jeff Lipsky/Women’s Health

Even her date nights with boyfriend Brooks Laich are built around her passion. “He wants to dance so bad and literally wants me to teach him every single day so while we’re cooking in the kitchen we’ll be dancing around with music playing,” she said. “I have an obsession with table decorations so I always have placemats and a candle lit and flowers just to make the mood like a date. And then we’ll have dinner and just chill — sometimes we’ll watch a movie or keep dancing.”

Julianne Hough on Her New Lifestyle Blog: ‘It’s About What I Can Give to the World’

Acting, performing for the Move Live on Tour, and judging Dancing with the Stars have all kept Julianne Hough pretty busy this year—but working on her lifestyle blog is what she finds the most rewarding.

“Being in the world of entertainment, as selfish as it sounds, is about me and my dreams,” Hough tells PEOPLE. “But my blog is not so much about what I can take from the world but it’s about what I can give to the world. I want you guys to know my personal stuff and what little things and tricks I like.”

Those tricks span from her favorite recipes: “My stuffed peppers are so easy to make, super healthy but also super filling, which is awesome,” says the star, who recently partnered with Babybel cheese for their Big Dreamers Contest. To beauty tips: “My readers really like when I do braids and hair tutorials,” she says. “I have to do more of those.”

Healthy eating and fitness is also naturally a big topic of conversation for Hough, who spends 2 hours a day dancing for the tour with brother Derek Hough and then still finds time to get a workout in.

“I just want to eat things that are actually nutritious and nourishing for my body rather than just something that tastes good and has no nourishment,” she says.

So she finds ways to incorporate her health into her relationship with boyfriend Brooks Laich by making dinner at home a big date night.

“I love finding ways to be creative with chicken, fish and vegetables,” she says. “Cooking at home and putting music on and dancing in the kitchen—that’s like my favorite thing.”

Though there are still the occasional mishaps in the kitchen.

“There’s been a couple times I’ve tried to get the brussels sprouts to be just perfect and crispy on the outside and definitely burnt those suckers,” she says before adding, “But anything is better than what he makes himself.”

Julianne Hough Reveals How She Stays Fit—and Her Candy Splurge

When it comes to staying fit, Julianne Hough is all about variety.

“I definitely like to mix it up, [otherwise] I get antsy and a little bored,” Hough, 27, told PEOPLE. “I love doing Body By Simone – it’s dance cardio with resistance training and weight training. I work out with Astrid McGuire as well, and I do CorePower Yoga.”

Hough also loves going for hikes around her L.A.-area home with her dogs.

“I’m a huge advocate for being outdoors, so I love hiking,” she says.

The Dancing with the Stars judge works out five times a week, and makes sure she has enough energy for all of that effort by getting plenty of sleep.

“It’s so easy to just be like, ‘I’m tired,’ ‘I had a late night last night,’ or ‘I’d do much better if I got more sleep today, I’ll work out later in the day,’ ” she says. “That never happens, so having a set schedule works well for me. And then because I have that set schedule I’m like, I need to get an early night so I can do it.”

Hough stays motivated to stick to her workouts because of how good she feels when she breaks a sweat.

“I just feel so much better after I work out,” she says. “I have the endorphins going, and I’m happy and excited for the day. It’s more the aftermath effects than the actual, physical I-want-my-body-to-look-ripped effect.”

Just as important to maintaining her health is a balanced diet.

“I try to stay healthy and have lots of greens and protein,” says Hough. “I eat a lot. I don’t deprive myself of nutrition, but I get full off of that. So then if I do want something [less healthy], I just have a bite and I’m satisfied. It’s definitely about balance.”

There is one particular junk food she just can’t resist, though!

“Sour Patch Watermelon,” says Hough of her favorite indulgence. “I have a whole jar in my house. It’s literally the death of me!”

Despite her occasional candy fix, Hough is committed to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle, which is why she partnered with Fitbit to be the national ambassador for their FitForGood charity campaign. Now through November 20, Fitbit users can choose to have their steps count toward raising money for The American Diabetes Association, The American Heart Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

“My role in the campaign is to help inspire and motivate people to get fit for a great cause,” says Hough. “I would encourage people to sign up for the campaign – it’s not only great to become more active yourself, but at the end of the day, $1 million is going to go to charity. It doesn’t get better than that.”

While there’s no need for an excuse to go all out on a Tuesday night — hey, we do it whenever we’re in the mood for chocolate cake, House re-runs and a serious heart-to-heart — Dobrev’s dinner celebrated BFF and Grease: Live star Julianne Hough — who blew everyone away with her portrayal of Sandy on NBC live production of the ’70s musical in January — at the pro dancer’s home.

“I definitely feel feel like I’m part of the Grease squad,” Dobrev writes on Instagram, referencing her very own Pink Ladies jacket, which Hough gifted her that same night. “So incredibly happy to be a (micro) part of this (HUGE) special experience of yours. Even if it’s just by wearing a jacket.”

We Tried It: Lea Michele’s Favorite ‘Luxury Bootcamp’ Wellness Retreat

The Ranch MalibuThe Ranch Malibu

What Is It: The Ranch Malibu is a one-week “luxury bootcamp” wellness and fitness retreat – Lea Michele, Minka Kelly and Julianne Hough have all paid visits – during which guests participate in hours of daily workouts and eat only plant-based meals in order to lose weight and detoxify the body.

Who Tried It: Gabrielle Olya, PEOPLE writer and reporter

Level of Difficulty: 7 (on a scale from 1 to 10). I only spent one day at the retreat, so I imagine that staying for an extended time would be more difficult, but I found the day’s activities to be a perfect mix of physically challenging and rejuvenating.

I arrived at The Ranch at 6:30 a.m. feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement. I was excited to spend an entire day “unplugged” (there is no cell reception on site) but a little apprehensive about doing hours of physical activity. Would I be able to handle it?

The first thing I noticed was how absolutely gorgeous the grounds were. I was completely surrounded by nature, and I arrived just in time to see the sun rise over the picturesque landscape.

I was eased into a day of activities with a morning stretch class, followed by a hearty breakfast of steel-cut oats with berry compote.

Next was a three-hour hike to the highest peak in the Santa Monica Mountains. I personally love long hikes, so even though this was physically challenging, being outside in nature was a good distraction from how demanding the actual hike was. And I felt so accomplished when I reached the top!

I did not realize how exhausted the hike had left me until we returned to The Ranch. Luckily lunch was next (a delicious “toona” wrap with vegan slaw and snap peas) followed by a tour of the grounds, which includes private bungalows for each of the 15 to 18 guests there at given time, a pool and hot tub, an organic garden, several exercise rooms, and relaxation areas.

The Ranch MalibuThe Ranch Malibu

The Ranch MalibuThe Ranch Malibu

I had an hour of free time before my next activity (all the activities are scheduled for you and are not optional), and I ended up falling asleep! After a quick hour nap, it was time to work out again with a 2 p.m. circuit training class, followed by a 3 p.m. yoga class.

After that, the hard work was done and it was time for the relaxing part of the day. I had been scheduled for a chiropractic adjustment/acupuncture appointment, which really helped relieve the neck and back pain that comes from sitting at a desk most days. My last activity was an incredible hour massage that really helped ease all the muscles I had worked so hard during the course of the day.

“The idea behind The Ranch was to give people a place to unplug, unwind, reset and recalibrate from busy, crazy lives,” co-founder and CEO Alex Glasscock tells PEOPLE. “It’s so effective because we have a no options program. We ask people to trust and let go, and put them through a really rigorous daily regime.”

“The sum total of eating healthy, low-calorie nutritious meals, coupled with rigorous exercise, massage and stretching, is you detox, your cholesterol levels are improved, you lose fat, gain muscle, and have this overall sense of empowerment, confidence and clarity when you leave,” he continues.

When the day was over, I was honestly sad to leave!

“I think people love how they feel when they’re here, and I think they love what they learn and gain, so upon leaving here they can continue to build and continue on that path of feeling good about themselves,” says co-founder Sue Glasscock.

Adds Alex, “The guests may initially come to lose weight, but they come back because of how they feel. Being an adult and being nurtured and treated tenderly is something that most adults don’t get. So here they can let go and be taken care of.”

The Verdict: I left The Ranch feeling happy, invigorated and accomplished. It’s a one-of-a-kind place that allows you to shut off from the rest of the world and really focus on improving yourself, while being taken care of by an amazing staff comprised of experts in the wellness field. I would love to go back for a full week!

Julianne Hough Learned that Restricting Her Diet Wasn’t the Answer: ‘I’m Allowing Myself to Do What Makes Me Happy’

After years of monitoring her diet, Julianne Hough realized that it wasn’t making her happy—and it wasn’t working.

“In the past, I used to be so strict, and because I was strict, I used to fall off really easily, and once I fell off, I would just go crazy,” Hough tells PEOPLE. “[I] was being very strict and disciplined, all or nothing.”

But now, happily engaged to hockey player Brooks Laich and working as a brand ambassador for the Fitbit, Hough has realized that obsessively trying to eat healthfully all the time just doesn’t work.

“This phase of my life, it’s not about that, it’s about a mindset and a belief,” Hough says. “I’m doing this so I’m healthy, when I have kids my kids will be healthy, when I’m older I’ll be in shape to play with them. There’s that thought process.”

RELATED: It’s Pink Ladies’ Night! Nina Dobrev Whips up Chicken Wings to Celebrate BFF Julianne Hough’s Performance in Grease: Live

“I think by not being so strict, I’m basically allowing myself to do what makes me happy rather than [focusing on] what I should do.”

And a major part of what makes her happy is a daily sweat session. Hough is seriously dedicated to her workouts, going to Corepower Yoga about twice a week, Body By Simone two to three times, and going for hikes with her dogs on the other days.

“I like to keep myself pretty occupied, and I feel like if I’m doing the same thing over and over again I get pretty bored,” Hough says. “So I try to mix it up.”

Which means she’s also constantly in search of new workout classes to try.

“I really want to try Rise Nation, which is like a stair treadclimber thing,” Hough explains. “It’s only 30 minutes I’ve heard because it’s so hard, you do literally 5 minutes and you want to fall over, that would be epic for the Fitbit. I love pushing myself.”

And all that sweat has an added bonus.

RELATED: Julianne Hough Launches a New Lifestyle Website (and There’s Pizza!)

“After I work out I actually feel the best. When you sweat, I feel like you glow more,” Hough says. “I also feel good when my fiance says I look good first thing in the morning with no makeup. It has to do with him too!”

“Once you make yourself happy, you can give so much more to the world, to the people you come in contact with. For me it’s working out, and my slogan is: The way you move directly affects the way you feel. It’s good for your soul, your health, future generations to come!”

But Hough quickly corrected her: “We’re already parents, we already have kids. They’re just furry kids.”

After being introduced by their mutual hair stylist about six years ago, the two say they immediately hit it off.

“It feels like we met when we were 2 years old, because I feel like I have known you my entire life,” says Dobrev, who stars in the upcoming film Dog Days. “We are goofy, we like to laugh, we like to play with our dogs and hang out and watch movies and get ready together and go places together. We just like to be around each other. I can only speak for myself, but Julianne is such a positive, awesome person. She has an infectious energy that you just want to be around, so selfishly I am just trying to get a little bit of her energy transferred to me.”

And Hough, 29, agrees.

“We’re like ying and yang — like same thing with Nina — you also have an infectious energy. You’re always the person that’s inclusive of everybody and always making sure everybody is having fun, and we’re like a spontaneous combustion of energy when we’re together, at least we think so,” Hough says.

Although Hough, who married NHL player Brooks Laich last year (Dobrev was one of her bridesmaids!), hasn’t had a baby yet, Dobrev says they already have one child.

“I have asked Julianne and Brooks to formally adopt me,” she says. “And luckily they said yes, so here we are.”

Julianne Hough’s Stylist Opens a Custom Sandal Store - Just in Time for Summer!

Want to get dressed like a star? Celebrity stylist Anita Patrickson is ready to give you A-list treatment.

The South African stylist, who dresses Julianne Hough, Eiza Gonzalez, Chanel Iman, Justin Hartley and more, is taking her love of shoes to the next level by launching her own footwear line, Amanu, and opening a storefront to go with it right in the heart of West Hollywood. And it’s not just any shoe store: It specializes in made-to-order sandals to fit your feet perfectly, just like the ones you would get if you traveled to Capri, Italy.

“It’s truly hard to find a great flat sandal, but these are now in the world,” Patrickson tells PEOPLE during a demonstration of how the made-to-measure process works. The goal, she says, is to truly bring the Italian experience to the west coast. She even hired a Capri-based cobbler to come and train her team to make sandals the Italian way.

So, how does it work? You go into the store — the design of which is inspired by her African background (shown above) — get your foot measured, get them fit to your feet (even if your feet are different sizes!), watch them get made and walk out with a pair of shoes.

“There’s so much excess at the moment,” says Patrickson. “When you’re watching a shoe being made, you realize what goes into it and how special it could be. It’s not like something you would get from a factory.”

Oh you know, just picking a color for my next @amanustudio sandal!!! The options are endless to create your own custom shoe! 1). Pick your style đŸ€”2). Pick your color way 🌈 3). “I love the fact that everything that we’re doing uses a timeless age-old technique that we have tweaked to make our own — a bit chicer, a bit more fashionable,” Patrickson adds. “But there are no chemicals, there are no crazy glues and there is no big pollution. This matters now: I think people are much more conscious of what they’re purchasing.”

Plus, as a stylist, she believes a beautiful sandal can be worn with everything, from a “cocktail dress to a ballgown, sandals are a perfect option.”

The flats range from $160 to $225, and the heels range from $245 to $275. She offers over a dozen styles at the moment, some of which are shown above. Learn more — and even make an appointment to visit the store — at amanustudio.com.

Julianne Hough Says Husband Brooks Laich Is 'Obsessed' with Modeling Vacation Outfits

Julianne Hough and her husband Brooks Laich aren’t shy about sharing their love for each other on social media. And luckily for Hough, Laich has a PhD in being an Instagram husband. (His photographs of her are next level.) But there’s a reason why their vacations (relive their Parisian vacay here) — and their vacation wardrobes — always look so flawless and put together: They’re professional packers.

The trick? The couple, who wed last summer, plan out their outfits ahead of time. During an interview with Hough about her partnership with Marriott’s Rewards Premier Plus credit card, the 29-year-old star told PEOPLE that she and Laich have a mini fashion show before every trip — and they even take photos of their looks in order to keep track of what they pack.

“Ooh, we’re different,” Hough, told PEOPLE of her and Laich’s individual vacation styles. “I bring way more clothes and outfits and put them together and now I’ve got him on that whole track. We do like a whole wardrobe, like I’ll take pictures and stuff, so we know what we’ve got for the whole trip.”

At first, Hough explains, her husband wasn’t a fan of the strategy. But now, they can’t travel without their planned ensembles — and their photos. “He was not into that when we first did it, but i do that now for him and he is obsessed with it.”

đŸ–€ My #1 supporter @brookslaich đŸ–€ This month is endometriosis awareness month! Yesterday I talked to @enews about my experience with Endo and how hard it can be to open up to loved ones about it. For anyone living with Endo I want you to know you can talk about it! Whether it’s your significant other, your family, a friend, your coworkers, whoever it may be, this should not be something that you need to be afraid of. It DOES NOT define who you are! You can read more about my experience and how I started to #speakENDO at the link in my bio.

Hough also points out that having the photos is a great way to chronicle their trips — the next of which will be a partnership with Marriott, which has 6,500 properties in 127 countries — and not repeat outfits.

“He doesn’t smile in them so he just looks so miserable in our little fashion show,” she shared. “It’s the greatest thing I feel like I ever came up with. I have all these different folders for different trips.”

Julianne Hough's Husband Makes Her 'Dream' Come True on Surprise Birthday Trip to Machu Picchu

Julianne Hough celebrated her 30th birthday in Machu Picchu, thanks to her husband Brooks Laich.

The Dancing with the Stars judge was given a surprise trip to Peru from Laich, whom she wed last summer. The trip was payback for a surprise trip to Utah, which Hough took Laich on for his 35th birthday in June. There, they toured Zion National Park, swam in Lake Powell, hiked in Bryce Canyon National Park and went canyoneering in Canaan Mountain Wilderness, among other adventures.

Like before, both shared photos and videos from their getaway on Instagram.

“Talk about best birthday ever,” she said on Instagram Stories. “This is unbelievable.”

“My husband knocked my 30th birthday out of the park
and all the way to Machu Picchu,” Hough captioned one photo of them, as they snuggled up (in coordinating ponchos and hats, natch) while sitting on a mountain overlooking the 15th-century Inca site.

My husband @brookslaich knocked my 30th birthday out of the park
and all the way to Machu Picchu ⛰Coming here has always been a dream of mine and to be able to celebrate a monumental closing of a chapter and beginning of a new one, is truly indescribable! I have been on such a journey the last few years but especially in the last 7 months. Brooks has been there every step of the way supporting me in all of my out of the box, wild ideas and dreams
discovering new parts of me I didn’t even know existed. I couldn’t be happier turning 30 and feeling so much more of what life truly is about. #unfiltered and totally #unknown -Life is absolutely remarkable! Thank you Brooks for completely blowing my mind with your thoughtful and adventurous spirit! I love you so much I can’t even handle myself! #machupicchu #pachamamma #fathersun #bestbirthdayever #dressedtoimpress 😜 #divinefeminine #spire #energyrich

She went on to explain that coming to Machu Picchu has “always been a dream,” but that it was especially significant because it marked “a monumental closing of a chapter and beginning of a new one.”

“I have been on such a journey the last few years but especially in the last 7 months,” Hough explained. “Brooks has been there every step of the way supporting me in all of my out of the box, wild ideas and dreams

“Thank you Brooks for completely blowing my mind with your thoughtful and adventurous spirit!” she continued. “I love you so much I can’t even handle myself! #machupicchu #pachamamma #fathersun #bestbirthdayever #dressedtoimpress 😜 #divinefeminine #spire #energyrich.”

I want to wish my loving wife @juleshough the happiest of birthdays today! Words cannot express how much love I have for you babe! I love your spirit and your soul, and you bring more joy into my life than I could have ever imagined. You are powerful young woman capable of anything you want in this world, and I can’t wait to see how you continue to grow, evolve, and change the world! Happy birthday love, ❀B

Laich was just as sentimental about his wife.

“Words cannot express how much love I have for you babe!” he wrote in a birthday tribute to her. “I love your spirit and your soul, and you bring more joy into my life than I could have ever imagined. You are a powerful young woman capable of anything you want in this world, and I can’t wait to see how you continue to grow, evolve, and change the world!”

In a video he posted from the mountain cliff, Laich showed his followers the views they experienced while sneaking in a smooch with Hough. “This is a very spiritual and sacred place. And I’m just happy that I’m able to bring here — that you love this,” he said. “We’re going to have an amazing adventure here in Machu Picchu. Take a look, this is beautiful. Happy birthday, babe.”

Hough was so excited she said she couldn’t “even move right now.”

When she did move, Hough made sure to film a video to her followers, asking them to participate in a breathing exercise with her “to send and receive love and gratitude to the world, to humanity and all that keeps us alive.”

“What I really want for my birthday is to spread more love for the world,” she said in the clip. “That’s what the world needs, is some giving and some receiving of love.
I want that to be my birthday present. If you guys are cool to give that to me, I would be forever grateful. But it’s not just for me, it’s for you. It’s for everybody in the world.”

“Let’s all do it together and spread and receive all the love we can!!!!” she wrote in the video’s caption. “Thank you in advance for the incredible birthday presents!!!! 🙂 love you all sooooooo much!!!!! đŸ™đŸŒâ€.”

If you’re gonna do Peru, you might as well do it in style! Yesterday while traveling from Cusco to Machu Picchu, we stopped at a small village and bought some hand-made poncho’s. The one I’m wearing took 1.5 months to make, the one my wife is wearing took 2.5 months to make. The artistry and dedication of the Peruvian women we bought these from is absolutely unbelievable! What an incredible talent, made entirely from hand, and only with the elements that Mother Nature provides them! I’d say the birthday squad looks pretty good in them – you can never doubt the commitment of this crew – happy birthday @juleshough! #machupicchu #peru — đŸ“·: the best Peruvian guide a group could ever wish for, our man @atiliodocty !!

Happy Birthday to my favorite person ever @juleshough. “You must be the change you wish to see in the world” couldn’t describe Jules any better. This girl is filled with more joy, compassion, love, and energy than anyone I’ve ever met. I often say that I don’t feel like I have a job, and that’s because my job is simply supporting this girl in her mission to impact the world. Pretty dope, eh? (That one was for you @brookslaich) For me personally, Jules you have believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself and have (patiently) helped me build a foundation of support in myself that I never thought was possible. You make me laugh harder, love deeper, and express myself more freely. Our memories range from hiking Machu Picchu (2 hours ago), watching too many hours of SVU in the back of the tour bus, getting me a puppy, walking on fire, driving each other crazy, endless closet clean outs, 5,000 breakthroughs, obsessing over our dogs, and more. I am so grateful to be your right hand chick, and wouldn’t rather be anywhere else. #MachuJuJu #LexiBuiltMachuPicchu

Vikings star Maude Hirst and Hough’s assistant and “great friend” Kristy Sowin were also along for the fun.

“Happy Birthday to my favorite person ever,” wrote Sowin. “‘You must be the change you wish to see in the world’ couldn’t describe Jules any better. This girl is filled with more joy, compassion, love, and energy than anyone I’ve ever met. I often say that I don’t feel like I have a job, and that’s because my job is simply supporting this girl in her mission to impact the world.”

Hirst called Hough an “incredible woman” in a photo of the two doing yoga moves together.

“I love you more and more everyday, and what a way to celebrate you today,” she wrote.

“Machu Picchu, you have our hearts,” she added, calling Hough’s big day the “best birthday ever.”

Julianne Hough Goes Back to Blonde: 'Being a Redhead Helped Me Embrace My Sexuality'

The blonde is back in town!

After nearly six months of experimenting with red hair, Julianne Hough just returned to her roots, trading her bold crimson hue for her signature bright blonde look — and her longtime hairstylist and close friend, Riawna Capri, is sharing the details behind the 7-hour transformation.

“I wouldn’t have felt this confident in my skin right now if I didn’t step out side the box of what I knew myself as and what people identified me as,” Hough told Capri of her new look. “Being a redhead helped me dive into my womanhood and embrace my sexuality. Now I’m ready to jump back to my roots with everything I learned and integrated in to my body and spirit.”

The star debuted her new look at her own surprise party birthday thrown by her friends on Tuesday, which Lauren Paul shared on her Instagram Story. In the video of her arrival, Hough is seen sporting a completely different shade from what we’ve know her to have since February, when the star dyed her hair red soon after marrying husband Brooks Laich. But Hough was excited to return to her original hue, says Capri.

“Jules has been creating and developing a secret project about transformation and identity,” Capri shares. “Going Red was part of this project and now that she has done her research, she wanted to go back to her roots and be the strong grounded blonde that she is.”

Our #901OG @juleshough is back, back to #BLONDE! But with a new hue: #HoneySuckleBlonde 🍯 Thank goodness for @joico’s Color Eraser for making the impossible possible in only one day! Red to Blonde is an all day affair, breakfast and lunch and hopefully not dinner. When you do a color correction like this, focus on your client, book out the day for her. When you have time on your side, everything else is a breeze. 7 hours of great conversation and lots of laughs, Kinda makes me want to do color corrections more!!! (SIKE!) Make sure to follow @ninezeroone as steps and formulas are coming soon. 😘😘😘 #901Girl #JulianneHough #hairjoi

This time, they strayed away from Hough’s usual icy blonde and instead went for a gold-toned color, which Capri is calling “honeysuckle.”

“When doing a color correction like this you pray to the hair gods and hope all goes as planned. And luckily for her it did.”

However, the transformation wasn’t an easy one — even at the hands of one of Hollywood’s most sought-after colorists. Capri shares that it took multiple rounds of perfecting in order to remove all the red from her strands.

“With patience and time it can be done in one day. We used Joico color removers and then went through and did a full head of baby-fine highlights. Every single hair needed to be lightened.”

And the pro says they kept Hough’s eyebrows brown in order to define her eyes. “Dark brows and blonde hair give more of an edge to being blonde, and makes your eye color pop,” she says.

But despite her transformation, Hough has shared that red was one of her favorite looks. The star said she’d always wanted to try the shade, which was done by Amber Maynard at Nine Zero One salon in Los Angeles.

“I have never felt more like ME than I do right now,” Hough captioned the reveal shot back in February. “I have always felt like a red head my whole life, even to the point that I’ve thought that my future daughter would 100% be a red head!”

I’m trying on a different version of me, a version that has always been there. It’s all about stepping into my feminine power and strength, and tapping in to this sensual and loving woman that has been waiting to crack open
Oh and heck yeah I drew freckles on today! 🙂 If you’ve been wanting to do something for yourself, or to step into another version of you, THIS is your sign ➡ DO IT. Whether it’s for play or to see if it feels like the true you, it feels amazing to explore those parts of yourself! #divinefeminine đŸ“·: @kristysowin

And Hough told PEOPLE that her husband, Laich, loved the look as well.

“Being married, something just shifted in my core. I sort of had been living up in like this happy, like air-y space, and I just felt so grounded and rooted, and just this feeling of being a woman, rather than a girl, just like stepping into that womanhood,” she said. “There’s just something about being a redhead
that just makes me feel really feminine and free, and just connected
I feel sexy. He loves it. It’s so fun.”

But maybe blondes really do have more fun.

Julianne Hough Goofs Around Topless During Fittings

Julianne Hough is having fun at her fittings.

Hough, 30, took fans a behind-the-scenes look at her styling sessions— where she goofed around topless as she tried on different outfits.

In one snapshot on her Instagram Story, Hough popped out from behind a rack of glittery clothing with her mouth open. In another, she nodded coyly at the camera as she wore a pair of white pants and held a matching jacket over her chest.

She tagged her stylist Anita Patrickson, who has also worked with Eiza Gonzalez, Chanel Iman, and Justin Hartley, in her story showing how the duo works together to craft her impressive wardrobe.

Hough recently switched back to blonde after almost six months as a redhead.

“I wouldn’t have felt this confident in my skin right now if I didn’t step out side the box of what I knew myself as and what people identified me as,” Hough told Riawna Capri, her hairstylist, when she returned to her blonde hue. “Being a redhead helped me dive into my womanhood and embrace my sexuality. Now I’m ready to jump back to my roots with everything I learned and integrated in to my body and spirit.”

After Hough went red, Patrickson gushed about the decision to PeopleStyle in March. “I think she’s exploring a slightly different side,” Patrickson said. “She’s just going on to a new chapter, she’s not on Dancing with the Stars, she’s a wife now and all those things. It’s probably hard for a celebrity in the public eye to take a leap from one chapter or one phase of your life to the next. We all do it without anyone looking at us. But as a stylist, you get to be a small part of that evolutionary thing.”

Hough’s husband Brooks Laich, 35, gets a kick out of fashion, too. Hough dished to PEOPLE about the couple’s vacation styles in May.

“I bring way more clothes and outfits and put them together, and now I’ve got him on that whole track,” Hough said. “We do like a whole wardrobe, like I’ll take pictures and stuff, so we know what we’ve got for the whole trip.”
