Julianne Hough's Hairstylist Reveals All the Details Behind Her 'Chic' New Bob and Bangs

When Julianne Hough debuted red hair in February, we didn’t think she could possibly top that mane transformation any time soon. But now that the star has stepped out with a new blunt bob, we realized we underestimated the hair chameleon and her trusted stylist, Riawna Capri — and immediately reached out to the pro for all the scoop on Hough’s brand new do.

“Detaching from what you know can be challenging, but also so freeing,” wrote Hough when she revealed her new look on Instagram.

“The best thing about hair is how you get to create, play and just have fun with it! So here is a new look, courtesy of frizzy ends needing a clean cut after going from red to blonde.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/BoKXRamBGhz/?taken-by=juleshough

While Hough chalks her hair change up to her frayed ends after returning to blonde, Capri says the duo had long been been discussing a big switch.

“A year or so before her wedding, we decided to start growing her hair out for her ceremony, but she and I have been talking about bangs for a while,” Capri told PEOPLE. “She said she hadn’t had them for like 11 years!”

Capri knows that if any of her clients can handle a major mane change, it’s Hough — but the pro, who’s cut similar looks for Nina Dobrev and Vanessa Hudgens in the past —  was still concerned about the maintenance that comes with having bangs.

“It’s a lot of work, but also the length of Julianne’s hair wouldn’t have worked with bangs before. Once we settled on this this blunt, chic bob, I was like, ‘Okay, we can do it. Let’s go for it!'”

The best friends sent inspo photos “back and forth over text for two weeks,” Capri reveals. “It’s really collaborative, doing a big change like this.”

And they took the cut itself super-slow to ensure Hough had no regrets. “We spent like two hours on it. I started small and worked my way up. When you do a big change like this, it’s always good for a hairstylist to build that trust with her client. If I would have just chopped it off from the get-go, there might have been doubt. I am really big on taking the time to do it slowly but surely. When you do, they’re obsessed and they love it, versus, boom! Then it’s like, ‘Oh! Wait! Did I go too short? Maybe I went too short! Oh no!'”

After nearly a foot of hair was on the floor — Hough had nothing but excitement. “She was bouncing around the salon — she loved it.”

And though Hough was grateful, Capri says it was she who was more thankful.

“I am an artist at heart. So for me to change all the time keeps me on my toes,” she shared. “I have never done this hair cut on her, and I texted her that night, ‘thank you so much,’ because some people go to one person for a cut, and another for color — but she chooses me for all of it, and it’s such a great feeling.”

Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich Get Cozy While Taye Diggs Shuts Down Dance Floor at Holiday Bash

The holiday season is in full swing!

Over the weekend, producer Jennifer Klein hosted her annual holiday party at her Los Angeles home, drawing stars like Julianne Hough, Nina Dobrev, Kelsey Grammer, David Duchovny, Lili Reinhart and more.

Hough was an early arrival at the bash and stayed close to husband Brooks Laich. Often hand in hand, the couple chatted with fellow guests like Maria Menounos. Other lovebirds getting into the holiday spirit included Dave and Odette Annable, and Grammer and his wife Kayte Walsh.

Though they’re often connected at the hip, Dobrev — Hough’s longtime BFF — breezed into the party later in the night wearing a green sparkly mini dress.

The former Vampire Diaries star snagged a “mistletoe margarita” served in a miniature Don Julio bottle, while other guests sipped on the brand’s Santa’s Spicy Cider cocktail.

On her way out of the party, Dobrev also stopped by Anthropologie‘s “Snow Much Fun” secret Santa gifting room, where celebs like Josh Gad and Katie Lowes picked up cashmere scarves and beauty products while drinking TYKU cocktails, mini bottles of Le Grand Courtage and Chloe wine.

Out on the patio, Riverdale‘s Reinhart and Madeleine Petsch had a cute reunion as they chatted for most of the party tucked away in a corner.

Guests like Mad Men‘s James Wolk noshed on a taco bar by Chipotle and the See’s candy bar was constantly crowded with celebs. Those who didn’t fully satisfy their sweet tooth — including Joel McHale — picked up Sidecar Doughnuts on their way out along with a steaming cup of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Sprinkles, Garrett Popcorn, Baked by Melissa, Barney Butter, Cake Bams, Olly bars, barkTHINS and Dang Foods were also readily available for the stars to bring home.

Meanwhile, the dance floor was packed until well past midnight. Taye Diggs was a mainstay, dancing the night away with pals who stayed hydrated with bottles of Icelandic Glacial water.

As the party wrapped up, servers passed around Suja wellness shots, along with Taja Coconut water and FoRTO Coffee shots, while Health-Ade handed out bottles of Holiday Cheers to help party goers recover.

Julianne Hough Says Her Endometriosis Pain Can Make Sex ‘Really Frustrating’

$

Julianne Hough’s endometriosis has required her to change up her sex life with husband Brooks Laich.

The dancer and former Dancing with the Stars judge, 30, has had the reproductive condition for 15 years; it means her uterine tissue grew outside of the uterus, causing cramping and chronic pain.

“It can definitely cut things short,” Hough told Women’s Health. “Sometimes we’re in the middle and I’m just like ‘AH, stop!’ It can be really frustrating.”

But Hough said that her former-NHL-player husband is receptive and understands if she needs to pass on sex. And she’s also learned that foreplay gets them just as satisfied.

“He only wants to love on me and make me feel good,” she said. “There’s so much intimacy without actually having sex. There are some cool things we’ve learned and it’s literally been awesome.”

Hough has come a long way from when she first started feeling endometriosis pain at age 15. For years, she ignored the symptoms.

“I thought it was just what it feels like to be a girl with bad periods,” she said. “I didn’t think to go to the gynecologist. Because I’m a competitor, I felt like I had to push through the pain and just work.”

But at age 20, the pain was so crippling that she had to go to the emergency room during a live taping of Dancing with the Stars. From there she was diagnosed and had her first laparoscopy, a surgical procedure to reduce her symptoms.

While it was a relief to have an answer for the pain, Hough struggled to come to terms with the idea that her body was failing her after years of athletic training. Plus, endometriosis wasn’t widely talked about.

“It was an emotional trauma,” she said. “At the time, I felt very lonely and like nobody understood me. I had no idea that had endometriosis.”

But that’s changed, thanks in part to Hough, who speaks openly about her condition and is an ambassador for SpeakENDO. She had a second laparoscopy one year ago, in Jan. 2018, and now treats her body with care.

“My body is very precious to me, I didn’t think of it that way before,” she said. “If I don’t feel like working out that day, then I don’t do it. If I want to sleep in, then I will.”

Though she does make a point to stretch and move in some way. “If I feel stagnant, then my body’s stagnant, and then my insides feel stagnant,” she said. “Even if I don’t want to move or exercise, I just stand with my hands on my abdomen, move my hips, and send love to my pelvic area.”

Hough encourages other women with endometriosis to take control of their situation.

“The more educated you become, the more powerful you’re going to feel,” she said. “You have two choices: You can hate it, or it can just become part of you. It doesn’t need to define you, it’s just an aspect of who you are.”

America’s Got Talent is shaking things up.

The show has appointed a new host and updated its judging panel heading into season 14, Variety announced Monday.

Terry Crews, who currently hosts The Champions iteration of the NBC talent competition show, will take over hosting duties from Tyra Banks.

Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough will serve as new judges, joining returning judges Simon Cowell and Howie MandelMel B and Heidi Klum will not be returning as judges.

“One of the many secrets to the success and longevity of America’s Got Talent is its fearless drive to reinvent itself,” Meredith Ahr, president of the alternative and reality group at NBC Entertainment, told PEOPLE in a statement. “The next evolution of the format brings in fresh expert eyes to join Simon and Howie on the panel. Gabrielle and Julianne are two of the most aspirational women in the business, on top of being electric entertainers with talent across disciplines. I am excited to see how their knowledge, compassion and sheer joy enhance the experience for acts and viewers alike. As their partner in crime, host Terry Crews will continue to light up the stage with his quick wit and unending charm.”

The news comes after the New York Post‘s Page Six reported in December that Banks, who has hosted AGT since 2017, would be leaving the gig to focus on producing TV and movies. (Reps for Banks did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment at the time.)

Banks, 45, had recently hinted that she might be leaving AGT to focus on a “massive project.”

“I don’t know ,” she told Access in November. “I think I had a really nice run with AGT. I had a lot, a lot of fun. I’m really focusing on Life-Size — I’m going to be producing TV and I have a massive project starting next year. I’m not so sure, but if I don’t come back, I had a lot of fun.”

Taylor Swift, Hailey Bieber, and Tons of Other Celebs Swear by This One Pair of Leggings

If there’s one thing we’ll always have in our closets, it’s a pair of leggings. With their rise in popularity over the years, there’s virtually hundreds of options in different fabrications, colors, and styles available to us. So, when we notice a pair being worn on repeat by tons of celebs, we sit up and take note — which is the case for Alo Yoga’s Moto Leggings. Stars have been flocking to the workout brand for years, so much so that whenever they’re spotted wearing leggings, there’s a good chance they’re from Alo Yoga (and more often than not they’re the brand’s Moto Leggings).

The celebrity of leggings has been worn by the likes of Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Victoria Justice, and Ashley Benson. According to the brand, other Moto leggings fans include Kylie Jenner, Julianne Hough, and Cindy Crawford. They’ve notably become the single pair of leggings celebs swear by — and it’s easy to see why so many stars adore them.

They look as great as they perform in the studio. Made with a four-way stretch fabric, the leggings are designed to move with you, so it’s essentially like you’re wearing another skin. Not only are they super comfy, but they also look really cool too, thanks to the moto-inspired quilted stitching and matte shine fabric with mesh detailing. And they’re only $110, a reasonable price for a good pair of leggings.

Plus, they come in seven different colors, though celebs are mostly spotted wearing the classic black leggings. Of course, you can snag a pair for yourself from Alo Yoga, but you can also shop them at Nordstrom, Zappos, Bloomingdale’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. And if you’re dying to get your hands on the one pair of leggings celebs can’t stop wearing, you can have them at your door in two days from Amazon if you’re a Prime Member! Our suggestion: grab a few pairs so you can wear them everywhere (we know celebs do!).

How Julianne Hough Overcame Depression and Anxiety: ‘Dancing Was My Superpower’

Before Julianne Hough became a two-time Dancing With the Stars champion, she coped with mental health issues.

“I struggled with anxiety and depression growing up,” the 30-year-old told PEOPLE. “I don’t think a lot of people would know that about me because I come off as sunshine and happiness and positivity.”

Hough opened up about her personal struggles on Thursday, at #WOW The Wonder of Women Summit in Los Angeles. The annual conference, which took place at the Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center at UCLA, was created to inspire the next generation of female leaders through the enhancement of mental and physical health.

“I just wanted to be involved and lend my voice but also to just meet incredible, powerful women who are making change and a difference in the world,” she said of her involvement in the #WOW summit.

The America’s Got Talent judge revealed that dance is the tool that made a difference in her world when she lacked confidence.

“Since I’m a dancer, I felt like that was my superpower my whole life,” she said. “It really transformed my experience and gave me a way to express myself.”

“ actually breaks the barrier so you get confidence within yourself, and it’s for nobody else but you.”

Hough is currently working with fellow panelist Dr. Wendy Suzuki, a neuroscientist, to discover the effects that dance has on the brain.

RELATED: Julianne Hough Says Her Endometriosis Pain Can Make Sex ‘Really Frustrating’

“We’ve been really closely looking at that and how it affects the brain, and our memory, and our ability to create endorphins and mood boost.”

The star said that dance is essential to her daily routine to stay both physically and mentally fit. “I believe that those two work hand in hand,” she said.

“I put music on immediately, which helps my auditory and sensory experience with my body,” she said. “So then my body is activated and I’m moving my body, which changes my whole energy level for the day.”

“So I get to choose how I show up in the world, with all the external pressures.”

The actress also avoids using her phone for the first hour of her day. Though she admits it can be challenging, she does this as a way to clear her mind and create space for innovation.

“When you first wake up, you’re in this Beta wave state so you’re apt to , your subconscious can come out,” she said.

Hough was among other influential women at the summit, including singer Sara Bareilles, actress Lisa Kudrow and Maria Shriver, who announced The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement Research Initiative.

Hough was moved to attend the conference and share her journey with anxiety and depression after her friend, Poppy Jamie, founder of a mental wellness app called Happy Not Perfect, invited her to speak.

“We have a lot of the same passions with mental health, and how we can just get this information and tools to actually help not just young people, but everyone.”

Goopies, rejoice!

Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop, a destination for health, beauty, style and everything in between, is gearing up for their third wellness summit in Los Angeles on May 18 — and the speaker list is loaded.

Goop just announced that Taraji P. Henson will join the all-star panel, led by Paltrow herself. Celebs Jessica Alba, Busy Philipps and Olivia Wilde had already signed on.

Paltrow will also host a conversation with Eat Pray Love author Elizabeth Gilbert, and former Dancing with the Stars pro Julianne Hough will teach attendees her dance-based workout.

As usual, In Goop Health attendees will have the chance to participate in wellness-trend workshops and test out food and fitness pop-ups, as well as hear from some of the entertainment media’s most powerful and motivating women. This health fest comes at a cost, though — tickets are $1,000 for the day, with a longer Wellness Weekender pass including a hotel stay and additional events available for $4,500.

Paltrow and her Goop staff will take a holistic approach to health at the L.A. summit, as they did at the New York City event in March.

“From the emotional to the physical, to the mental and the spiritual – which I think, we all theorize are inextricably connected,” Paltrow told the NYC crowd in March. “ will cover some of the topics that we think are most pertinent to us: intimacy and masculinity, burn out, healing crisis, and new frontiers of medicine like the psychedelic renaissance. Don’t worry there’s no acid in your gift bag!”

Paula Abdul Accidentally Injured Julianne Hough with Hat During Billboard Music Awards Performance

Paula Abdul‘s show-stopping performance at the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday night had one accidental casualty — Julianne Hough‘s neck!

As the pop veteran, 56, danced and sang through a spirited medley of her biggest hits, at one point she threw a large black hat off of her head and into the crowd. As the hat flew off, it hit Hough directly in the neck, causing her to laughingly gasp and turn toward the camera.

After the show, Hough, 30, shared a photo of herself still wearing her glam awards show outfit with what appeared to be a white neck brace around her neck. In the snap, the dancer smiled and gave two thumbs up.

“The result of the honor of being hit in the neck by @PaulaAbdul’s flying hat!” she wrote. “Love you, babe!!!”

Abdul quickly responded, quipping: “OMG IM PEEING MY PANTS!!!!! You know it was with love.”

Be sure to check out PEOPLE’s Billboard Music Awards coverage to get the latest news on music’s big night.

Abdul’s performance included her 1988 No. 1 hit “Straight Up,” her breakthrough smash “(It’s Just) The Way That You Love Me,” as well as chart-toppers “Opposites Attract,” “Cold Hearted” and “Forever Your Girl.”

She received a standing ovation from the audience — as well as the adoration of host Kelly Clarkson — at the end of the performance, which saw her doing everything from tap-dancing to leaping into the waiting arms of her dancers.

It’s been 30 years since Abdul hit No. 1 with four tracks from her debut album Forever Your Girl, which spent 64 weeks on the Billboard charts.

Abdul opened up about returning to the stage during E! News’ red carpet pre-show.

“For me, I think if you align yourself in that heart space what you love to do, then you’re on the right path,” she said. “You have to be willing to make sharp left turns and sharp right turns … It’s hard to make it in this business. You can’t take things too seriously, and as I get older the more I’m in the moment, the more I appreciate everything that’s going on.”

The singer added: “I’m doing it for my mom and my dad!”

The former American Idol judge’s big performance came two weeks after she revealed her father Harry died just one year after Abdul lost her mother Lorraine.

“My Father was, and always will be, my superhero. ♥🙏🏼” she wrote alongside several photos of the pair together on April 17. “Thank you ALL for the heartfelt condolences. Your love and support is comforting me during this difficult time. xoP”

Abdul also posed with Taylor Swift ahead of the big awards show.

On Wednesday night, Swift, 29, shared a photo of herself with two of her cats and Abdul on Instagram.

“I’m trying to give them a normal upbringing but when the little ones and I ran into the flawless @paulaabdul on the way to red carpet we STRAIGHT UP had to get a pic,” she captioned the shot, which featured her cats Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button.

“I’m allergic to cats!” she said “I love cats, but I’ve tried allergy shots. Certain dogs I’m allergic to as well.”

However, the photo was a possible turning point for the former American Idol judge.

“I’m thinking maybe I’m not as allergic as I used to be, because I did fine.”

Gabrielle Union on the 'Beauty' of America's Got Talent: 'You Never Know What's Coming'

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the new cast of America’s Got Talent!

In PEOPLE’s exclusive first look of the behind-the-scenes footage from the superhero-themed season 14 trailer, longtime judges Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel are joined by newcomers Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough as well as new host Terry Crews.

In the trailer, Cowell acts as the captain who assembles the best team with the goal of finding a new hero (aka a new AGT champion). With a signal from Cowell, each celebrity gathers at his lair, with Hough using teleportation, Union using a time-traveling bookcase and Crews using his wings to fly.

“It’s fun and unexpected,” Union, 46, says of filming the trailer, adding, “That’s the beauty of AGT, you never know what’s coming.”

As for the over-the-top storyline of the trailer and the hilarities that ensue, Cowell, 59, jokingly teases: “It is a reflection on the show. As I always say to Howie: don’t overact.”

Mandel, who will be celebrating his 10-year anniversary on AGT when season 14 premieres, says dressing up was the best part.

“I love wearing tights and capes around the house but to do it for a trailer at work makes it special,” he says.

In February, NBC announced the new slate of celebrity panelists as Crews, Hough and Union replaced Tyra Banks, Mel B and Heidi Klum.

The Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor transitioned as host after emceeing AGT‘s spinoff The Champions earlier this year.

“There are some weird stuff, some incredible things,” Hough previously said about what fans can expect this upcoming season. “There are some daring stuff, there were a lot of knives,” Union added.

“I literally said, ‘I’m literally down to do whatever as long as there are no knives,’ and then every single act had knives in it,” Hough shared.

Season 14 of America’s Got Talent premieres May 28.

AGT Season 14 Judges & Host Terry Crews Congratulate Howie Mandel on His Historic 10th Season

Howie Mandel will make history as the star with the longest tenure on America’s Got Talent, with 10 consecutive seasons.

When season 14 premieres Tuesday night, viewers will see familiar faces Mandel and Simon Cowell, who serves as both executive producer and judges. But fans will be welcoming newcomers Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough, who replaced Mel B and Heidi Klum, as well as new host Terry Crews, who replaced Tyra Banks.

As Mandel kicks off his 10th-anniversary celebrations, Union, Hough, Cowell and Crews tell PEOPLE about the 63-year-old comedian’s impact and success on the NBC series.

“It’s awesome, it’s amazing,” Union, 46, says of Mandel’s feat. “He’s so fun and has made me feel very, very welcomed. He has the exuberance, I’m sure that he had on the first day and he’s never lost it. It’s infectious and the audience feeds off of it.”

Meanwhile, Hough, 30, believes the funny man’s compassion and positive vibes have proven to be his recipe for success.

“I’m just getting to know Howie for the first time, even though I’ve been watching him and have been a fan of his. It’s amazing, you can tell he’s been a show like this for 10 years because he’s passionate about helping people change their lives and make their dreams come true,” she says.

“There’s a genuine passion and care he has for the people that come on the show,” the former Dancing with the Stars judge and champion shares. “He’s just funny. He’s the comedian of the group, figuratively as well. He’s always good energy and bubbly mindset, and he keeps it real. He definitely has a voice and a platform. Everything he does is authentic to who he is. He encourages contestants and he’s relatable. I love Howie, I think he’s freakin’ awesome.”

Host Crews, 50, has been a longtime fan of Mandel’s and reveals that working with the star has been a pinch-me moment in his career.

“I have a long, long history with Howie Mandel. My favorite show of all time when I was a kid was Make Me Laugh and he had a lot of hair. He was my favorite guy on that show. He really was a part of why I do what I do, even now as a comedian and a comedic actor. Howie is a legend,” the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor says, laughing. “Ten years on this show, he has created so much history and created so many careers. And helping people become their best, to live their dreams. Howie Mandel is the man! I love him like a big brother.”

Crews, who made his AGT hosting debut on the spinoff Champions, adds, “The first call I got after my first airing of Champions was over was from Howie. ‘Terry, I just want you to know we love you, we believe in you, we’re glad you’re here.’ I was weeping and got choked up.”

And last but not least, Cowell, who has worked with Mandel since season 11, praised the comedian.

“I don’t think the show would be what it is without him, genuinely,” Cowell, 59, says. “The minute I met him, I felt like he got us, he got the show and got what it’s all about. He’s going to be with us forever, he’s stuck with us.”

And the love is mutual, with Mandel applauding his costars this season, summarizing each star’s individual strengths as simply, “Wow!”

“Wow, the energy and excitement and heart that Terry brings to the hosting,” Mandel tells PEOPLE of Crews.

“Wow, the joy and insight of somebody like Julianne, who has been in this business since she’s been a baby. As a performer, as a producer, as an actress, and she is so beyond her years. She’s like a kid compared to me but so beyond her years and so heartfelt it is wow, what she gives people,” Mandel says of Hough. “Even physical critiques and inspirational kind of pep talks that make people walk away from whatever she says feeling better.”

As for L.A. Finest actress Union, Mandel has nothing but high praise.

“Gabrielle is a force to be reckoned with. She is smart, strong and beautiful,” he says. “And a businesswoman, a mom and a wife — I don’t know what the one word is except wow. As Gabrielle always says, ‘Bring it,’ and she always does. Just like Bring it On, except this one she’s the good girl.”

And Mandel has a soft spot for Cowell, whom he calls “sensitive.”

“There is no softer heart in the business than Simon. Simon will be honest and then you look at somebody’s face and you see maybe they’re taking it a little hard,” Mandel says. “As soon as we go to commercial and it’s not part of the show, he’s the first one on the stage to kind of assure them, to give them a hug and say, ‘No, I’m being honest. I think you’re good. Just listen to what I said. Try this and it’ll be great.’ And sometimes, no pain, no gain, but when pain is kind of shared it’s all for a greater cause.”

He adds of Cowell, “I think that he’s become more sensitive; I think we have become less sensitive to that kind of because I think that if you listen to what somebody’s saying more than how somebody is responding to that, he is really constructive. And that’s what I try to do and that’s what I try to live up to.”

Season 14 of America’s Got Talent premieres Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Brooks Laich will have a very special guest on an upcoming episode of his podcast How Men Think: his wife, Julianne Hough.

On Monday, the NHL star, 36, dropped the second episode of his podcast with Gavin DeGraw, during which the stars and their panel of experts opened up about relationships and commitment.

While preparing for an upcoming episode centered around sex and intimacy, Laich said he was “blown away” when he spoke to Hough, 31, whom he wed nearly two years ago, about her take on the topics.

“I was like, ‘What you just said was so eloquent and beautiful that everybody needs to hear it. It can’t just stay between you and I,'” Laich tells PEOPLE of what he told his wife during their conversation. “So she comes on for the episode, and we open up about intimacy in our lives, and sex, and it’s absolutely incredible. It’s the most open and raw we’ve ever been, and I just hope people take stuff from that interview and apply it to their relationship.”

The athlete — who also designs fitness training programs available through his app Open Gym — says he and Hough weren’t afraid to get candid for his podcast in hopes of helping others.

“We have never been so specific, detailed and open about exactly what goes on in our relationship and our respective thoughts and approaches to intimacy and sex,” he says. “We give people our exact specifics, how we create intimacy, why it’s important to us and open up about our sex life.”

Following the conversation on his podcast, Laich realized he had also gained a deeper understanding of his wife, who has been vocal about her struggle with endometriosis. “We have amazing discussions at home, but this was another discussion of learning, growth and understanding of each other. This is an area in my life that I want to learn more, and my wife is vastly more evolved in this area. For her to come on and share … it was just so powerful.”

Celebrating two years of marriage next month, Laich says the couple are still learning about each other — and more in love than ever.

“The first thing I always remember is that my wife is my best friend in the world. I want more for her than I ever want for anybody else, and that includes myself. So if she’s having success or she loves something, I want to support that as much as possible because I want my best friend in the world to have the greatest life,” he says about avoiding jealousy within their marriage.

“I feel like I’ve found my person. I try and keep the big picture in mind at all points that this is my best friend in the world,” he adds. “And I believe she does the same for me.”

Talent really does come in all shapes and sizes.

Tuesday night’s episode of America’s Got Talent found the judges left nearly speechless by a 10-year-old opera singer’s impressive performance.

Emanne Beasha, a Florida pre-teen whose father owns an ice cream shop, wowed the entire judge’s panel, including Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union, with an electrifying performance of “Nessun Dorma.”

Beasha’s unbelievable performance earned her praise from all four judges — and a standing ovation! — before receiving a unanimous pass on to the ‘Judges Cut’ round.

“How does that voice come out of that little body? Wow,” Hough asked in amazement.

Meanwhile, the notoriously difficult-to-please Cowell was enthusiastic in his praise of the young opera singer: “I mean seriously, that was unbelievable. What an amazing person. Your dad’s got the best job in the world. It must be magic ice cream. And then you come along and just do that. You are absolutely fantastic.”

“How does somebody your age get into that kind of music?” Mandel asked of Beasha’s love of opera music. “I believe that after tonight they’re gonna be recognizing you on the street, so your life is never gonna be the same and your dreams are about to come true.”

“The whole audience was like, you’ve gotta be kidding me. You’re that talented. You’re just a star, you know? Wow, wow, wow,” Union added.

Should Beasha win the competition, she would join the likes of other pre-teen winners including Bianca Ryan from Season 1, Grace WanderWaal from Season 11, and Darci Lynne Farmer from Season 12.

The two-part season finale wraps up mid-September.

Brooks Laich Says Julianne Hough Was a ‘Warrior’ During ‘Super Challenging’ IVF Process

Brooks Laich is in awe of his wife Julianne Hough.

On a recent episode of his iHeartRadio podcast How Men Think, the NHL player and entrepreneur, 36, revealed he and Hough began the IVF process shortly before she turned 30 last July.

The couple aren’t pregnant yet, but Laich tells PEOPLE he’s more appreciative than ever for Hough, who has been a “warrior” through the process.

“Knowing she has endometriosis, it could potentially make things challenging in the future to conceive naturally,” he says of their decision to start IVF. “That was just a looking at the big picture and what we want as a family.”

In addition to starting IVF, the America’s Got Talent judge, 30, also froze some of her eggs last year, and “the commitment that she made to us having a family is something I’ll never forget,” he adds.

Calling Hough a “champion,” Laich says she had three shots a day for two weeks, and dealt with mood swings from the hormones.

“As a husband, I just go into full support mode. Whatever my wife needs, whatever I can do, I’m fighting the smallest portion of the fight with her,” he says. “There are certain things in my wife’s life that I know she appreciates that help her feel calm and help her feel relaxed, so I double those efforts during that time just to show that I’m there with her and I support her.”

While the athlete acknowledges going through IVF is a usually “private” experience, he and Hough — who has been open about her struggle with endometriosis — want to fight the stigma that may come with fertility issues by speaking out.

“The outpouring has been incredible,” he says of the support they’ve received since going public with their own journey. “Text messages from friends that I didn’t even know were considering it, messages on Twitter and Facebook, Instagram, people thanking us for opening up about that. I just hope it helps people.”

Julianne Hough Explains Why Intimacy with Husband Brooks Laich Is ‘Really Sacred’ to Her

Brooks Laich and Julianne Hough are opening up about their relationship like never before.

In the latest episode of the athlete’s new iHeartRadio podcast How Men Think (airing Monday), the America’s Got Talent judge, 30, joins her husband to shed light on sex and intimacy within their marriage.

“I can have chemistry and connection, but my intimacy with Brooks is because he challenges me, and he sees me for exactly who I am and accepts me for the fact that I can have chemistry and connection with a lot of people, but I choose him every day,” says Hough in the episode, previewed exclusively with PEOPLE. “I think that is also really sacred, and that’s why we have an intimate relationship. I don’t have that kind of intimacy with a lot of connections that I make throughout my life.”

While Hough acknowledges sex is certainly a big part of intimacy, the star says the word has come to mean so much more to her since she met Laich, 36.

“Honestly, when I think of the word intimacy … I think it’s one of the most sacred things you can have between a partnership. I think it’s what separates friendship and lovers, and I think that most people do think about sex when they think of intimacy, but when I think about intimacy, I think of presence,” she says. “I think of absolute, complete and utter connection, when we are two people connecting and then we actually become one person.”

Hough and Laich — who wed two years ago — are certainly happier than ever together, but the dancer admits even she has days when she’s just not in the mood to get frisky.

“Sometimes finishing dinner and going and sitting on the couch and putting on the laptop on the lap and putting a show on … multiple distractions I think is good. We need balance obviously, but that definitely stifles feeling intimate and connected,” she says. “Definitely doesn’t make me wanna be like, ‘Hey, let me go put something sexy on!’ I’m like, wearing my sweatpants, let me get cozy.”

The Dancing with the Stars alum explains, however, that her lack of interest in sex on a particular night isn’t because of her husband.

Rather, “it’s more how is making me react. Whatever you’re doing makes me then be like, ‘Okay, well, I don’t feel sexy,’ or I’m now wanting to get cozy or I’m now feeling unseen so I don’t wanna look at you. Does that make sense?” she asked Laich on the podcast.

Last month, the Open Gym app co-founder told PEOPLE he was “blown away” by Hough when he brought her onto his podcast to discuss intimacy.

Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich are ensuring that the fire in their marriage never dies out.

In the latest episode of the athlete’s new iHeartRadio podcast How Men Think, the America’s Got Talent judge, 30, joined her husband to shed light on sex and intimacy within their marriage.

While chatting about how they manage to prioritize each other’s sexual needs, Hough revealed that it hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the couple, who celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary on Monday, confessing that they’ve sought out professional help to keep their relationship thriving.

“A lot of people don’t know even what they want,” Hough pointed out. “My curiosity has saved my life and honestly saved our relationship many times because we’ve been curious about like, ‘Hey, something doesn’t feel right. Instead of just accepting it for how it is, let’s look into something.””

The professional dancer went on to explain how she discovered a sex therapist online who gives couples tests to help determine their “erotic blueprints” and how sexually compatible they are.

“When I took the test, I realized that there were certain things that gave me connection and intimacy that were different than what gave Brooks connection and intimacy,” Hough explained.

“By almost learning each other’s language — sort of like love languages — it was almost like a menu of how we could please each other sexually, but also intimately,” she continued, noting that her idea of intimacy is about “just wanting to be seen.”

“We go to dinner a lot of the time and dinner for Brooks is great because he’s getting fed, he’s got me there, whatever it might be,” she added. “Dinner to me means I want eye contact and I would really appreciate you, maybe touching my hand at some point.”

While Hough values a physical connection, Laich confessed that he’s more about visuals when it comes to feeling intimate. “When you put lingerie on, I am f— fired up,” he admitted to his wife. “I love it.”
